Anissa Hillman Grandberry is a native of Pontiac, Michigan. She was born, raised and educated in the confines of this proud community. Upon receiving her diploma from the Pontiac School System, Anissa went on to earn her Bachelor Degree from Mercy College in Detroit. It was there that she matriculated in the concentration of business and received her Business Administration degree. Furthermore, she has successfully completed a series of course work in grant writing from Marygrove College in Detroit. In the present, she has completed several post graduate courses in administration. Anissa has been a Senior Mortgage underwriter for several large Private Mortgage Company for over 10 years. She used the combination of all of the above to catapult herself into being a Managing Partner and owner of H&M Technology, LLC for 3 years. Currently Anissa is the owner and CEO of Metropolis LLC where their order of business is managing semi- independent living homes.
Her community and spiritual involvement has served as a catalyst to her passion of giving back to those that are so humbly in need. Those passions have brought her to serve as: the Administrative Leader at her church, President of the NPG Foundation and co-leader of the Pretty Brown Girl Club. She is also a mobile mortgage loan closer. Anissa believe that she has been blessed to be a blessing to others. She is passionate about her degree of giving back to her community and beyond. Anissa lives by the belief that the things she does or things she involves herself in is not work. It is her passion meeting her purpose. Anissa has been married or over 20 years to Mr. Kevin Hillman with whom they have one child. She enjoys: serving GOD, spending time with her husband and family and creating change in the lives of the misfortunate. The battle is ongoing but very much so worth the fight. Jameane Grandberry Bouie is a Contract Sourcing Specialist for, a nationally recognized, integrated health care organization located in southeastern Michigan. Jameane has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine-Exercise Science from Eastern Michigan University and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurial Management from Davenport University. She has 5 years of Non-invasive Cardiac testing experience and over 14 years of Supply Chain Management experience, including but not limited to Contracting, Procurement and Sourcing. She is an active member of the health care system's Internal Review Board. She is a long time member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is on the Board of Directors for the Delta Fortitude Foundation where she serves as the membership co-chair. She was a pioneer for the creation and organization of the NPG Foundation where she serves as Vice President.

Mary Elcock, MBA, a native Detroiter, she has always had a passion to give back to the community. Mary’s undergraduate degree is from Eastern Michigan University with a major in Accounting, and her graduate degree in Management from Walsh. She has over 25 years of accounting experience in which she has worked in the public, private and non-profit sector. She is active in her church, providing leadership to the Deaf Ministry, a member of the Ministry of Business and Management team, as well as an Officer of the Church. She’s a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She was an active board member of It Takes A Village, Inc. in Redford Michigan, for 5 years. Mary is married and is the mother of two wonderful children.

Clarissa N. Grandberry Payne currently serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the NPG Foundation of which she played an iatrical part in the development and organization. Clarissa also serves as the Public Relations Chair of the Delta Fortitude Foundation. She is a third-grade teacher in the Pontiac School District where she has worked for twenty-nine years. Clarissa is a very active member and church secretary/clerk of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Her undergraduate studies were at Wilberforce University in Ohio, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Finance. Her Master’s Degree studies and certifications are from Wayne State University in Elementary Education.

Kerry Mason is a skill trade worker, who has been working as machinists for over 20 years. Specialized in prototype fabrication and CAD design. He obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Technology from Oakland Community College. He is also working on a second degree in Homeland security at Oakland community College. He loves working and coaching youth in sport to help build personal develop and to empathize self-efficacy. Kerry is a devoted husband of 20 years to Dr. Catina Mason and father of two daughters Jasmine, Jailah and Grand Father to granddaughter Laila. He is heavily involved in his church at Citadel of Faith. Where he is currently head of security and help with community outreach events. He has been a member of NPG foundation since 2010. Where he helps with fundraiser events and community activities. He also a fraternity brother of Prince Hall Mason.

Mr. Kaino Phillips is a Pontiac product born and raised. He is the son of the late Mayor of Pontiac, Clarence Phillips and Life Long educator, Lorene Phillips. After attending and graduating from Pontiac Northern High School, Kaino took his educational endeavors down to Grambling State University in Louisiana where he matriculated in the educational concentration of Pre-Law (Political Science and Mass Communications). It was during that duration where he catapulted into multiple leadership roles: President of the Student Affairs Commission, President of the Student Senate, Student President of Judicial as well as the Student Government Association to name a few. Upon graduating, he returned to Michigan where he continued his passion for change and upliftment. He did that by engaging in multiple leadership roles within numerous organizations in the walls of his community and state. These positions past and present include: Executive Mentor with the Youth Challenge Academy of Michigan, Executive Board Member of The NPG Foundation, Pontiac Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Mayoral Transitional Board, Graduate Advisor at Oakland University, Executive Board Member and Graduate Advisor for the Pontiac Pan Hellenic Council at Oakland University as well as the Director of Membership Intake for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. to name a few. The one involvement that he prides himself on most is his many years of being a Motivational Speaker. Professionally, he has been in the field of corporate sales and management for close to 21 years. Currently, he serves in the position of President/CEO of the Clarence Phillips Ascend Foundation. Just recently he received the: United States Congressional Resolution of Service Excellence, Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner Special Tribute of Service Award, Oakland County Board of Commissioners Proclamation of Service, Detroit Mayoral Proclamation of Service Excellence Award, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson Award of Service Excellence, Pontiac Mayoral Proclamation of Service Award (Pearls of Hope Award), Pontiac City Council Resolution of Service Award, State of Michigan Resolution of Service Award Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Community Service Servant of the Year Award, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Black Business Salute Award for Service, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Pontiac Trailblazer Award, Alpha Kappa Alpha Ivy Impact Award, State House of Representatives Minority Leader Tim Greimel Proclamation for Service as well as an honorary induction for LEADERSHIP into the Golden Key National Honour Society for his leadership efforts and practices within the state of Michigan. Furthermore, he was named as a finalist for the 2015 NAACP National Image Award. Engaging the youth has always been the pinnacle of his passion, Kaino lives by the belief that, “You shouldn’t complain about a problem unless you are willing to engage the problem.” “If you choose not to take actions then you have cast yourself in the role of an enabler and you forfeit your right to complain.”

Yashica Wellons is a former Educator of the Pontiac School District. She taught at Pontiac Northern High School for over twelve years as a Language Arts/Literature teacher. She did not only teach at Pontiac Northern High School, she gained her own educational background from the Pontiac School System and graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. After graduating from high school, she furthered her education at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education/Literature later to receive her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Phoenix in Troy, Michigan. After, graduating from Alabama State University, she received her first teaching position in Prattville, Alabama and was honored “Teacher of the Year” and then realized teaching children was her gift! She serviced one year in Alabama, later to return to her hometown Pontiac, Michigan and continued her teaching career for twelve years.
During her teaching career at Pontiac Northern High School, she formed the dance team “The Desirable Divas”, later offering young men to be apart, changed the name to the “Pontiac Northern Dance Team” which not only reflected student’s interest in dance, but helped students to understand the importance of self-image, discipline and social skills. Each year of existence, the dance team was awarded with several honors/awards, traveled locally, and participated in various competitions and events.
Currently, due to the trails of having System Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) a chronic illness, working for the Pontiac School district ended, but her love for children continues! She is still involved with several programs, helping children throughout the community and works diligently with her church youth programs, and other networks/organizations. Plus, with the encouragement of friends and God’s direction for the past five years, she has launched the Walk for Lupus for people suffering with Lupus and their supporters in Pontiac and other surrounding areas. This walk helps to gain funds for the research of Lupus and the National Lupus Foundation of America.
She continues to live successfully with a beautiful daughter, the help of dedicated family members and friends! She is victoriously living through GOD and his love! Truly, her smile does enough for many and contagious to others!
